A hospital stay is a scary experience for a young child. This program seeks to prescribe smiles by donating clown noses to hospitals treating children. The Hospital Smiles Clown Program began at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) in Tucson, Arizona. Volunteers put clown noses on a child's face and show the child his image using a hand mirror. When we saw the smiles on the faces of the young patients and their families this inspired us to spread this cheer to children in other hospitals. This program has now expanded to donate clown noses to hospitalized adults. We will introduce this program to your hospital by supplying six dozen clown noses and three hand mirrors at no cost. If you work in a hospital, or have a hospital in your community that would like to participate in this program, please contact us and provide us with a contact name at the hospital along with a mailing address. |
My favorite things about Clown Noses & Smiles Program: I love a child's expression when they first adorn their face with a clown nose...there's nothing like a giggle and a grin to brighten a hospital room! And parent's faces are simply priceless. I couldn't think of an easier way to distribute smiles! Thanks, Ralph!! Heather Heather L.
